Moda Black Heads To Barcelona

With Barcelona's annual Sonar Festival now just weeks away, we're very pleased to announce that we'll be hosting a very special Moda Black party as part of the off-Sonar festivities.

Moda Black artists, extended family, special guest and music that will flood your brain with all the right feelings…

See you there :)

Friday 14th June 2013 at CDLC, Barcelona

Moda Black Volume.II

The wait is over and after months of hard work Moda Black Volume.II has finally hit the shelves!

14 exclusive pieces of music from Moda Black's artists and our extended family. From Ben Pearce's low-slung, atmospheric opener through to the stripped back aesthetics of Danny Daze & Maxxi Soundsystem's 6am finisher, via shades of futuristic funk, bumps, twists and turns.

We're totally elated with how this body of work has come together; we've obsessed over every detail to make sure the product truly reflects our passion for the music and the artists on the album.

Secret Warehouse Party

We've always felt a responsibility to continually push things forward. From the early days at theThe Cell, to being the first club event to occupy the Engine Shed, to hosting a live Radio 1 broadcast, to being the first people to throw a party in the abandoned  cellars below Tokyo.

We believe you deserve new experiences and boundary-pushing music - which is why we've organised our most elaborate event to date for May 11th 2013.

Moda Black Vol.II

After months of grinding away it's all come together very nicely indeed. 14 totally exclusive pieces of music, ranging from downtempo vibes to ass shakin' bass jams to bumpin' garage joints, all meticulously mixed into a journey through the landscape of modern house music and it's numerous offspring.

From the tracks, to the mix, to the artwork, to the CD packaging, to the 12" vinyl, to the accompanying t-shirt; we've obsessed over every little detail to make sure this product truly reflects our insatiable passion for the music and artists we believe in.

Moda Black's New Recruit

A childhood of spending your lunch money on jungle records, reading your older brothers Eternity magazine and amassing rave-tapes does a lot to a person. Underground music culture becomes a part of their DNA and no matter how hard the 'real world' tells you to do something sensible, it just doesn't resonate.

Moda Black Hits Leeds & Glasgow

It's safe to say we're pretty happy with how 2012 went. Moda Black went from strength to strength, with killer EP's from Hot Since 82, Tanzlife, PlezierMaxxi Soundsystem and many more.

Two Thousand And Thirteen

With the festive period over, we thought it was about time we gave you a little update on what's going down with us and Moda...

First of all we need to say THANK YOU!!! We've been blown away by all the love for Moda Black over the past year, and scooping iTunes Dance Album of the Year was an incredible and totally unexpected end to 2012. Thank you for supporting the label and our artists, it means the world to us.

Shadow Child Vs Hot Since 82

It's been an amazing year for everyone at Moda. The Moda Black album sold way beyond what we expected and the label has gained an army of worldwide fans. We're extremely proud of the entire crew and all the artists who've released with us, but believe us when we say this is just the beginning.

Moda Mix Series 19: Broke One

Milan's Broke One is an old friend of Moda's. Having first caught our ears around 3 years ago with his remix of Elke, we quickly realised we had a bunch of mutual friends. Not long later we were sat around a table, sharing pizza and shooting espresso-fuelled breeze. Our shared passion for vintage house had us planning a release on Moda, which came in the shape of Once Upon A Time.

Fabric: Moda Black Xmas Party

Moda Black hits Fabric once again this December, as part of a festival-sized melting pot of electronic music.

Being Christmas and all, we decided to invite some of our bestest friends along for the ride. The result?… A line-up that will have the every building in EC1 grappling for stability!

Come join us for 8 hours of low-down, sweat-inducing, nocturnal tomfoolery at the legendary rave cavern they call Fabric.

Tickets have almost sold-out already, so please be quick.

See you there :)

Moda Black Basement Party Feat. Justin Martin

Having already hosted the likes of Eats Everything, Shadow Child and Disclosure, our basement parties are quickly developing a serious reputation amongst ravers and DJs alike. With the city streets above and a roaring Funktion One in front, anything can happen…

Moda Mix Series 18: Baunz

A very welcome addition to the Moda Black family comes in the shape of Italian track master Baunz. His crisp productions, dreamy melodies and refined musical skills allow him to create lush house music that feels classic, captivating and, quite often, hypnotic.

Moda Mix Series 17: Mia Dora

Mia Dora's new EP on Moda Black is serious stuff, let it be said. Although a new name on the scene, their productions are refined, powerful and inventive... and when you've got the likes of Eats Everything, Russ Yallop, Heidi and Richy Ahmed all dropping it in various global rave dens, you know you're onto a good thing.

To celebrate their induction into the Moda Black family we asked them to take control of episode 17 of the Moda Mix Series - an insightful hour-long journey around their inner beings. You're gonna love it!

Moda Mix Series 16: PBR Streetgang

In anticipation of their debut performance at Moda this Friday, we're handing over the reigns of our 16th Moda Mix Series episode to two of our favourite Leeds lads PBR Streetgang. Recorded live at Space Ibiza a few weeks ago, this mix perfectly sums their dynamic genre-flexing style, which has no qualms lilting between house, disco, funk and whatever else it takes to get your body sweating.

This Friday!

One week from now Moda Owns The City will be taking over Lincoln with a 3 venue event that will have you dancing from from dusk until dawn…

Starting on the Dogma Terrace, heading on to the Engine Shed, then culminating in the abandoned cellars below Tokyo nightclub, this really is gonna be something else…

And, of course, we've enlisted some of the most important names in forward-thinking electronic music to provide the soundtrack…
