Craig Duranti
Moda’s favourite Essex boy (well, he’s joint first with Kissy!) has been around music since he can remember. Sharing genes from his Punk worshipping mother and his Disco loving father Craig spent his early years discovering artists such as The Clash, Eurythmics and Michael Jackson.
In 1999 a scene swept through his local area which some now laugh at, but back then UK Garage was everywhere and a 15 year old Craig soon discovered raves, pirate radio and the art of playing records. His affiliation with UK Garage was short lived, but his love of dance music was cement. A job at the local record store soon followed, pushing vinyl, meeting DJ’s and learning about all areas of electronic dance music.
A move to Lincoln in 2004 proved the pivotal moment in Craig’s career. A chance meeting with a group of like minded lads who were about to start a new club night gave him the chance to play records alongside some of the biggest names in dance music. 5 years on and Craig now both a resident DJ & Label Manager for Moda Music.
Whilst away from the DJ booth Craig can usually be found next to a sack of demos or prowling gigs, in search of fresh new bands & producers.
As Craig’s increasingly hectic schedule heads towards 2010, he’s also preparing for the release of his debut EP on Moda Music and some rather heavy remixes. If his DNA is anything to go by, we should be in for some special!
